Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
A form of vitamin B3 that helps regulate oil production, strengthen the skin barrier, and even out tone over time. It is well tolerated by most skin types. Found in the Niacinamide 10% Clarifying Serum.
Hyaluronic Acid
A humectant that binds water and holds it in the upper layers of the skin. It works best applied to damp skin and sealed with a moisturizer. Found in the Hyaluronic Pebble Serum, Niacinamide Serum, and Driftwood Eye Cream.
Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate)
A stable, gentle derivative of vitamin C. It is an antioxidant that brightens skin and helps fade uneven tone, and it is more shelf-stable than pure L-ascorbic acid. Found in the Vitamin C Riverlight Serum.
Retinal (Retinaldehyde)
A form of vitamin A that converts to active retinoic acid in a single step, making it faster-acting than retinol. It smooths texture and softens fine lines. Introduce it slowly and always pair with sunscreen. Found in the Smooth Stone Retinal Night Treatment.
Squalane
A lightweight, stable emollient that softens skin and improves the feel of a formula without a greasy finish. It appears in five Riverstone products, including the Slate Daily Moisturizer and Mineral Shield SPF 30.
Glycerin
One of the most reliable humectants in skincare. It draws moisture into the skin and keeps formulas comfortable. It appears across most of the Riverstone range.
Ceramides
Lipids that occur naturally in the skin barrier. Adding them to a formula helps skin hold moisture and stay resilient. Found in the Slate Daily Moisturizer, Riverbed Recovery Cream, and Smooth Stone Treatment.
Zinc Oxide
A mineral UV filter that provides broad-spectrum sun protection by sitting on the skin’s surface. It is well tolerated by sensitive skin. Found in the Mineral Shield SPF 30.
Panthenol (Provitamin B5)
A soothing ingredient that supports the skin barrier and reduces the feeling of tightness or irritation. It appears in five products across the range.
Centella Asiatica
A plant extract, sometimes called cica, valued for calming redness and sensitivity. Found in the Spring Water Toning Mist.
Shea Butter
A rich plant butter that softens and comforts dry skin. Found in the Riverbed Recovery Cream and River Lip Balm Trio.
Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
An antioxidant that conditions skin and helps protect oils in a formula from going off. It pairs especially well with vitamin C. Found in four Riverstone products.
